Early August has already past us by and Sony Ericsson are yet to ease the anxiousnous of waiting for the immediate worldwide release of the new X1 model.
I have checked the Sony Ericsson X1 product page on a weekly basis and the “X1 is coming soon.” message is still boldly laughing at me.
Sony Ericsson have created an e-mail notifier to let readers know when the X1 is available in stores, sign up today. Hopefully the wait isn’t too long now…

Ladytron
The 1st of September at The Tivoli will be wild with Ladytron playing their fourth album release Velocifero and earlier releases here for the very first time in Brisbane.
This band have been kicking off weekend parties since the release of 604 back in 2001 with their own breed of boosted electronic pop and often experimental musical techniques.
As reported earlier Familjen will be opening for Ladtron which will be a great set before the gods begin. Velocifero was released in February this year so I’m eager to see the fans response as the band have continued to refine their overlapping vocals and coarse trance mood with their latest album.
“Seventeen”, “Evil”, “Blue Jeans” and “Destroy Everything You Touch” are Ladytron classics which I’m confident will be played throughout what is set to be an epic evening. Tickes are available online through The Vivoli website.

Logitech Revolution MX
The Logitech Revolution MX has 9 customizable controls to take advantage of. What I’ve done is set the left-side thumb controls as my volume control and arrow buttons as previous and next track for Windows Media Player.
To do this open SetPoint Settings from the Start menu and set the following mouse configuration:
- 1. Left click
- 2. Right click
- 3. Shift scroll modes
- 4. Media player
- 5. Next
- 6. Previous
- 7. Left scroll
- 8. Right scroll
- 9. Volume

The Dandy Warhols: Courtney Taylor-Taylor (left), Brent De Boer (mid-left), Zia McCabe (mid-right), Peter Holmström (right)
The infamous 90’s pop/rock/psychadelic crew of Courtney Taylor-Taylor (vocals, guitar), Zia McCabe (keyboard), Peter Holmström (guitar) and Brent De Boer (drums) will be arriving on Australian shores in early October.
This years concert will mark the band’s 10th anniversary since first touching down from the rock heavens on to our soil.
The Dandy Warhol’s have come a long way from their first signed album in 1995 to garner critical acclaim and global recognition within the pop/rock industry. Their 6th album, …Earth to the Dandy Warhols… is available now through iTunes and Rapsody and expected for physical release in August.
It’s frankly exhilarating what this band can do live - NME
What I love most about the band is how they’ve managed to stay true to their basic roots, what I mean is the band formed as Courtney Taylor-Taylor put it becasuse they “needed music to drink to” and the same holds very true today. Try going to a college/uni party and not overhear a classic from The Dandy Warhol’s, “We Used to Be Friends”, “Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth” and my personal drinking favourite “Bohemian Like You”!
November the 5th in Brisbane is going to go off, The Tivoli are hosting the event and with Australian devotion to this band tickets are limited and will sell fast! Puchase your ticket to see The Dandy Warhol at The Tivoli on November 5th now.
I’m back on Twitter, and only recently also on Plunk and discovered a prominent Windows Vista Sidebar Gadget for Twitter called Twadget, it takes up alittle too much screen real-estate so I’ve placed it on it’s own panel.

Online virtual world for the masses?

One of my favourite bars in Brisbane has no website, I find that a joke in todays online society! So, to kick things off not only am I going to build a website about the bar, I’m going to look into the possibility of a website dedicated to daily specials at each bar in and around Brisbane. This is going to be a big win for the bar as well as Brisbane’s night scene as I envision increased foot traffic from visits to the sites.
If this works out for the first bar I’m going to move onto the next…
Windows Media Player 11 includes great track crossfading support. Simply this means at the end of each song the volume is decreased and the next song faded in.

Crossfading tracks in Windows Media Player
To turn crossfading on in Windows Media Player 11:
- Open Windows Media Player.
- Expand Enhancements from the View menu, select Crossfading and Auto Volume Leveling.
- Press “Turn on Crossfading” to activate track crossfading.
- Drag the overlap slider to your desired level (I set mine to 10.0 seconds).
- Press the red Close button.
